Near East University didn’t strain itself hard….. Wisla CANPACK: 74 – Near East University: 82

Competing in FIBA EuroLeague Group B, the Women’s Basketball Team of Near East University faced Polish Wisla CANPACK on game-day 12 of FIBA EuroLeague Women. Near East University stamped its class in the game and defeated its rival 74-82. With this win, Near East University has made it 10-2 and continues to lead the Group B with 22 points.

According to the info released by the Near East University Sports Club, Near East University Women’s Basketball Team faced Wisla CANPACK on Wednesday 17 January 2017 at 20:00 (GMT+2) at Krakow, Hala TS Wisla Sport Hall. Near East University started the game with Elin Eldebrink, Courtney Vandersloot, Kayla McBride, Jantel Lavender and Sandrine Gruda. The periods ended 15-31, 33-48, 47-66 and 74-82.

The game between Near East University and Wisla CANPACK was a breathtaking one and it lived up to the expectations when the two teams clashed at Krakow, Hala TS Wisla on Wednesday night. It was a perfect night for Near East University on Gameday 12 as they clung on to 82-74 win against their rival, with the one-two punch of Jantel Lavender and Kayla McBride doing most of the damage.

After a devastating first period of 15-31, Wisla CANPACK struggled to compete but Near East University choked off any further indoors from Wisla with effective defense and dominated the game, especially the last part of period three to lead 47-66. Wisla CANPACK struggled hard to make up the gap in period 4 but their effort wasn’t enough to win the game. Near East University was so powerful in the paint and very effective in defense. Near East University won this challenging road game 74-82.

Kayla McBride and Jantel Lavender netted 23 points each while Courtney Vandersloot weighted in with 14 assists to lead Near East University to a comfortable 82-74 win.
