The opponents that the Near East University will compete in the 2017-2018 regular season of FIBA EuroLeague Women, which is the highest professional basketball league in Europe for women’s clubs, have been announced. The 16 teams were drawn into two groups, with teams facing each other home-and-away over the course of the Regular Season. As confirmed by FIBA Europe on Tuesday 4 July 2017, the Near East University Women’s Basketball Team will compete in the Group B.
According to the press release issued by the Near East University Sports Club, the EuroLeague Women 2017/18 Regular Season groups were confirmed following the draw in Munich, Germany on Tuesday morning. For the EuroLeague Draw, the16 teams were divided into eight bags according to their performances in European competitions in the last three seasons. Near East University General Coordinator Murat Tümer and Deputy General Coordinator Erhan Ayaz represented the Near East University at the EuroLeague 2017-2018 Draw.
As a result of the EuroLeague 2017-2018 Draw, the Near East University Women’s Basketball Team will compete in the Group B in which Fenerbahce from Turkey takes place. Another Turkish Team, Galatasaray, will compete in Group A.

Group A:
Dynamo Kursk, ZWZ USK Prague, Tango Bourges Basket, Galatasaray, ESBVA LM, Castors Braine, Sopron Basket, Winner 01
Group B:
Wisla Can Pack, Fenerbahce, Winner 02, Near East University, Famila Schio, CB Avenida, Nadezhda Orenburg, and UMMC Ekaterinburg.
Two teams remain to be determined via the EuroLeague Women Qualifiers in late September. In Qualifier 1, Piestanske Cajky (SVK) faces CCC Polkowice (POL); and in Qualifier 2, KSZ Szekszard (HUN) plays with BLMA (FRA).

EuroLeague 2017-2018 Regular Season will start with the matches to be played on Wednesday, October 11, 2017.
For the first match of Group B, the Near East University will host the Italian team Famila Schio at Istanbul Cafer Ağa Sports Saloon on Wednesday, October 11, 2017.

The four best placed teams in each group will qualify for Quarter Final Play-Offs
Teams which will rank the first four in each group will qualify for Quarter Final Play-Offs. The 5th and 6th teams will qualify for the FIBA EuroCup Quarter Finals.
The winners of the Quarter Final Play-Offs will qualify for the Final Four. The winners of the Final Four will play the Final to win the EuroLeague Cup.
